Report Center – Data Connection Library
The Report Center has a Data Connection Library which can be used to store connection information which can be used by the report center to access data from other internal and external sources.
The Data Connection Library, can store two types of connection information.
Office Data Connection files: These files have an extension of .odc, they are used by Office Applications to store information which can be used to locate, log on, query, and access data from external data sources.
Universal Data Connection files These are file with extension .udc, they are used by Applications like InfoPath to locate, log on, query, and access data from external data source. These are XML based XML files with a particular namespace and schema. Supports Single Sign-On (SSO) for applications in multi-tier architectures. Unlike the ODC format used by other Microsoft Office applications, which stores information about database connections, UDC files can store information about several different types of data connections, and they can be extended to store information about arbitrary types.

Report Center - Report Calendar
The Report Calendar can be used to set report specific date related information, like the date on which the data of a particular report should be refreshed.
The Report Calendar also allows the users to set remainder alerts on specific dates, the alerts can be configured to trigger e-mails so that the appropriate person is kept informed.

Report Center - Reference Library
The Report Center contains a Reference Library, which can be used to store help information to the users about the reports in the Report Center.
It contains documents with details like the type of reports stored in the Report Center, Navigation, Site Map etc.

Report Center in Share Point
Report Center is a site template introduced in Share Point 2007, it acts as a centralized repository to store all Business Intelligence specific widgets like Dashboards, KPI’s, Reports, Published Excel worksheets etc.
In Share Point 2007, a default Report Center site is created with the name Reports, we can create additional Sites based on the Report Center template as needed. The default Report Center site in SharePoint 2007 looks as follows.
